Men’s Christian Golf League – Weekly Updates 05/09/2024.
Well, it looked like we might possibly get rained out in our first week of league as the rains came down to start the round. It drizzled a bit to start, but Mother Nature decided to give us a break to start the league. It was definitely soggy and was cart path only for our opening scramble. We had 6 teams playing with twenty league players and four subs. All in all it turned out ok as we watched the weather patterns shift and go around the golf course, as we prayed at the prayer circle for no rain. Which of course we were granted by Mother Nature. Here are the teams for week one and how they finished.
Team #5: Dave Benson, Doug Busam, Nate Hood and Sub Trevor Vallus – finished tied for first at (-3). They win the scramble based on their performance using the handicap scorecard, posting a birdie on #18 (handicap hole #2).
Team #4: Warren Hood, Jim Turner, sub Ben and Chris Offer-finished tied for first at (-3), but only parred the #2 handicap hole.
Team #2: Andre Viger, Ray Ressler, Mike Marihugh & sub Anthony Cicchelli-finished third at (-2).
Team #6: David Pyche, Al Rossi, Wayne Davidson & Bill Davidson-finished tied for fourth at (-1).
Team #3: Kirk Cejmer, Bill Marsack, Sub Ben and Jeff Schultz-finished tied for fourth at (-1).
Team #1: Dan Wicker, John Grewe, Ernie Danos and Steve Fleck-finished sixth at (even par).
We begin our regular play this week. The schedule is on line. And the competition for closest to the pin begins this week as well. Remember, anything inside of 144″-12 feet, should be measured for the end of the year prize. The closest to the pin for each flight each week will win a sleeve of golf balls. So aim well
Again, tee times have been set on the schedule and we will begin at 5:00. The prayer circle begins at 4:45.
So, have fun, enjoy the game and our brothers in the league.
